About FURE: Fundación 1 Rayito de Esperanza
A non-profit organization that works on behalf of a vulnerable community in a neighborhood of Caracas. Committed to livelihoods and promoting inclusion and community development.
Our
Story
FURE emerged as a necessary response to the vibrant but challenging reality of the communities of Petare, in Caracas. Amidst an environment marked by a lack of opportunities and vulnerability, we recognized immense potential and a thirst for the future in every child and young person. Our foundation was born out of the unshakeable conviction that it is possible to rewrite the narrative of despair. We exist to demonstrate, through concrete actions, that through education, sports, and art, we can illuminate a different path. We are the beacon that guides the recovery of safe spaces and the construction of a dignified future, transforming the natural resilience of our neighborhoods into stories of success and lasting hope.
Mission
Who are we?
Mobilizing people, resources, and networks to transform vulnerable communities through comprehensive education, nutrition, sports, and arts programs. We reclaim public spaces so that they can once again become places for gathering, culture, and safety, reducing risks associated with drugs and violence. Our goal is for every young person to find reasons to stay in school, dream, and build a future for themselves.

Vision
To build resilient and safe communities where every child and young person has access to education, opportunities, and dignified public spaces that inspire hope and belonging. We dream of a generation that breaks the cycles of poverty, school dropout, and violence, transforming their neighborhoods from within.
Our Global Commitment: Contributing to the UN SDGs
The work of the 1 Rayito de Esperanza Foundation transcends local borders. Our comprehensive impact model addresses the structural causes of vulnerability, contributing directly to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations.

Community Impact
Every day, we build a sense of belonging, reduce risks associated with drugs and school dropout, and strengthen the community from within.
Many small people, in small places, doing small things, can change the world.
